We're pleased to offer the following services in our Johnston veterinary clinic:
We offer full animal medical care, including vaccinations, wellness visits, new puppy and kitten visits (so cute!). If your pet requires routine elective surgery, such as ovariohysterectomy (spay), castration (neuter), declaw or teeth cleaning, we perform those procedures on an outpatiet basis, which means you can take them home the same-day. If your pet is ill, we have a full in-house laboratory and in-house radiography.
Our appointment book is computerized which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet. Our technicians will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. We are open for scheduled appointments from:
Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open. If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call us or come to the hospital immediately. If possible, it is best to call before coming in so that a staff member can advise you on your particular emergency.
Emergencies can be things such a snail bait poisoning, hit by car, and chocolate ingestion. If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment do not hesitate to call or come in immediately. We are also available for urgent medical care. We will work to accomodate your immediate need as best we can. When you arrive, our technicians will be able to give you an estimate on how long you may have to wait in order to be seen.
At Rush Animal Care, we care for dogs and cats. If you have a pocket pet, such as a hamster, gerbil, rat or other small animal, we will happily refer you to another clinic in town that works more with those species. We will provide similar referrals on birds and reptiles.
We provide pet boarding for your special dog or cat friend. The dogs are in indoor runs, and are let out to an outdoor run area (~750 sq. feet) 5-6 times per day on the days we are open, and 3 times daily on the days we are closed. Your dog is not co-mingled with other dogs. We always have a television running in the kennel area, and low-level lighting at night. We require that dogs be current on distemper-parvo, bordetella and rabies vaccinations, and have a current negative fecal (stool) check within the past twelve months. We would be happy to contact your regular provider of veterinary services to obtain the information, or you may ask your veterinarian to fax it to us. We feed an Iams food in house. If you prefer to have us use your dog's food it must be brought in a resealable container or ziplock bag. We cannot accept open bags of dog food.
We have a kitty suite for boarding cats. We only board cats from the same household in the kitty suite. Cats do much better in boarding when not kept in cages. We require cats be current on distemper and rabies. We feed a Hill's Prescription food in house. If you prefer to have us use your cat's food it must be brought in a resealable container or ziplock bag. We cannot accept open bags of cat food.
We provide pet grooming services at our office. We offer grooming by appointment on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. The dogs must be current on distemper, bordetella, and rabies. Cats must be current on distemper and rabies. We do not offer grooming on Saturdays. We do clips, baths and offer medicated shampoos for specific skin disorders.
Rush Animal Care operates an open hospital. This means that our team welcomes owners to be with their animals during any medical procedure, whether a simple vaccination or a complex surgery. If your dog or cat will be more comfortable by having you present, we can accomodate that concern.
